    • Batteries must not be refurbished or re-sold and will be used for recycling only.
    • Purchaser must abide by all transportation laws and regulations relating to the movement of batteries.
    • Purchaser must adhere to all transportation of dangerous goods requirements.
    • The batteries should be treated as waste, Class 8, for the acid still in them, during transport.
      • This will require a manifest for each trip.
    • Purchaser is required to provide and pay for all documentation/manifest pertaining to Transportation of Dangerous Goods.

Special Instructions

  1. No viewings are permitted.
  2. Buyers are encouraged to make payments online. Client site custodians cannot take in-person payments.

Pick-up

  1. Persons picking up the Batteries must prove that they have Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification prior to the batteries being released.
    • The buyer will provide all required placards to be placed on the vehicle being used to transport the batteries.
    • The buyer shall comply with all standards set out in the Act on Transport of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and any other provincial or federal regulation for handling, packaging and shipping prior to the batteries being released.

  2. Shipping is not provided by GCSurplus.
  3. Onsite staff cannot pack, load, mail or ship items.
  4. Pick-ups can only be done by the buyer or an authorized third party.
    • All pickups by a third party require a signed Authority to Release to be sent to the "Contact" listed in the sale prior to releasing. If sending a Transport Company a completed Bill of Lading is also required to be sent to the "Contact".
  5. Appointments to pick up are mandatory, no exceptions.
  6. Buyers without appointments will be turned away.
  7. The buyer is responsible for making their own arrangements for packaging, loading and removal of the items from their physical location.
  8. Normal working hours are 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  9. Certain requirements exist for removal by 3rd party Couriers; Contact onsite DND personnel prior to bidding to ensure 3rd party removal instruction are understood.

Payment and Removal
Payment:
The Purchaser agrees to make any payment requested (see available payment options) by the Minister within 3 business days from the date of such request and prior to removal of any of the property.
 
Removal:
The Purchaser, upon acceptance of this offer by the Minister and after payment in full has been received by the Minister, shall at their expense, pack, load and remove the property by the date indicated on the bill of sale or, if no date is shown, within 3 business days after the date the bill of sale is issued.

Buyers are advised to contact each asset custodian listed on the sale to determine what viewing and pick-up directions are in place as instructions may vary from location to location. The item(s) described herein are being sold offsite and not from a GCSurplus Sales Centre. For all offsite sales, Canada is responsible for making the sale items accessible for removal. They are under no obligation to provide assistance of any kind. It is the Purchaser's responsibility to ensure they have the proper labour and material handling equipment to facilitate the removal. Failure to comply with this condition of sale may lead to the Purchaser being turned away and the items and funds being forfeited.
